ESFA

Social Space and Formation on Architecture, is an architecture students, and young architects’ association that works on issues related to the social side of architecture. It aims to be an open space, where everybody interested on it, can express him or herself and propose new architecture approaches, from sustainability, cooperation, citizen participation, accessibility or other perspectives.

We organize, among other things, training conferences, debates, one week field work, courses, intensive subjects, etc. We are also currently working on different cooperation projects in Argentina, Guatemala or Haiti

ESFA  members are divided by commissions. Each commission works independently. There are also general meeting where all commissions meet together in order to discuss and inform about what the other commissions do. ESFA is an umbrella association in which different groups with different working styles and projects work.

The current objectives of the association are the following:

  • Being an open space in the university where it is possible to share new ways to understand architecture, from new architecture approaches, from sustainability, cooperation, citizen participation, accessibility or other perspectives.
  • Think, get knowledge, spread ideas, raise awareness and train persons on the topics that are consider necessary and refer to the architectonic field as a complement to university education.
  • Work on the topics that refer to the most social approach of architecture, both in the university and in the cities or other countries.
  • Work on planning and architectonic project development, construction and town planning within the developing countries territory and most underprivileged areas caused by economical disadvantages, always working with a counterpart.
