About the CCD


The Center of Cooperation for Development (CCD) is a section of the UPC, which appeared in 1992 as initiative of the Social Council of the University. The CCD was created with the aim to encourage the active implication of the UPC in cooperation for development and to support initiatives within this field among the UPC community members. The CCD also has the function to raise awareness and give the students useful courses about cooperation and its related problems.

As a fundamental pillar of its mission to serve the society, The University has the responsibility to participate actively in order to encourage solidarity and equity among cultures and to promote a better human and sustainable development in the world, through teaching, researching, and technology and knowledge transfer.


  • Raising awareness among the UPC community towards social, technical and economic problems in developing countries, organizing concrete activities and supporting the initiatives coming from UPC community members.

  • Form the University community members about cooperation and its related problems, trying to stimulate their participation on technical cooperation projects in developing countries.

  • Collaborate with NGO, enterprises and institutions that share the criteria and objectives of the CCD, and share experiences with other universities and organizations that work on the field of cooperation for development.

  • Cooperate and advise developing countries, through the execution of technological applications carried out by UPC members with the CCD support; cooperate and advise focusing on leaders, graduates and technicians from developing countries trough relation, training and exchange programs, and projects staying for a limited time in our country, being guide by the UPC; in order to form professionals in those countries to promote development.

  • Inform and document, through data and material collection, with the aim to have enough elements to put into practice the objectives and the programs planned, and to spread within the UPC the initiatives and activities that other NGO and institutions offer.
