The UPC’s Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (CMEM) was established in 1988. Its activities span both higher education as well as research within all the fields of materials science and engineering. The Department also has a close relationship with industry and technological institutions in Catalonia and Spain.
The CMEM is formed for more than fifty people among professors, researchers, technical staff and PhD students and its equipments and facilities are located in different counties of Barcelona, as Barcelona itself, Manresa, Terrassa, Vilanova i la Geltrú and Urgell.
