The director of the Doctoral School of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Prof. Francesc Sepulcre Sánchez, is pleased to invite you to the welcome ceremony for the 2018-2019 academic year, which will take place on 9 November 2018, at 10:30 a.m., in the Auditorium of the Vèrtex Building on the UPC North Campus (Plaça Eusebi Güell, 6, Barcelona).
Dr. Francesc Xavier Grau Vidal, Secretary for University and Research of Catalonia will give the inaugural lecture.
Dr. María García Parajo and the PhD Student Ms. Pamina Winkler will give a speech entitled "Both sides of the coin while doing a PhD: the good and the bad from the supervisor and the supervised".
The 2018 Special Doctoral Awards for the 2015-2016 graduation year will be presented during the course of the ceremony.
After the ceremony will take place two speeches highly recommended for the new PhD student entitled "5 tricks to take advantage of UPC libraries" by Ms. Ma. Pilar Bombín and Ms. Anna Rovira from Libraries, Publications and Archives Services and "Assessment/support from the International Students Office, for your legal procedures during your stay", by Ms. Bérénice Martín, from the International Relations Bureau.
