Infrared /UV Spectroscopy
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR Nicolet 6700) is equipped with a He/Ne laser source, CsI beamsplitter, DTGS-CsI detector and OMNIC software for an spectral scan range between 225 and 6400 cm-1 (far-IR and middle-IR). It has three separate compartments for measuring transmittance, attenuated total reflectance (ATR), specular reflectance and diffuse reflectance (DRIFTS). Samples can be analyzed as a powder, liquid, solid, ultra-thin coatings, fibers, pellets, metal coatings, among others.

- Smart Orbit: ATR accessory for reflectance measurements, there are brackets with crystal diamond and ZnSe crystal

Applications: Used in the characterization of organic molecules, polymeric materials, ceramic materials, detection of species absorved on metal substrates, detection of surface contaminants, residues, monolayers of organic or inorganic materials, among others.
