Cultural and language induction for international students
The Orientation Week, a language exchange programme and free Catalan courses are some of the activities that the Language and Terminology Service (SLT) is organising for international students at UPC for the 2008-2009 academic year.
September 2008 sees the start of numerous activities designed to make students feel at home.
The Ajuda’m programme organises an induction week for mobility students from 4 to 10 September, which includes free activities designed to familiarise students with the University and Catalan society, such as guided visits, language workshops, cookery lessons, wine tasting and sports.
Ajuda’m provides guidebooks on sightseeing and social life and organises a language exchange programme. Information is available at http://www.upc.edu/slt/ajudam/.
Students from other autonomous communities in Spain and abroad can also sign up for free Catalan courses. For courses held in the autumn, enrolment begins in September. See the SLT’s website at http://www.upc.edu/slt/aulacat/index01c.html for course timetables.
