W1 IWSPM'08: Second International Workshop on Software Product Management
- Vector Consulting Services, Germany
- Hewlett-Packard, Germany
- Utrecht University, the Netherlands
- Utrecht University, the Netherlands
The success of any software product depends on skilled and competent product management. Software Product Management includes product requirements, release definitions, product release lifecycles, creating an effective multifunctional product introduction team and Đ above all Đ assuring a winning business case. This workshop aims to continuously increase the body of knowledge for software product management by providing a forum to exchange ideas and publish baselined results.

W2 MERE’08: Third International Workshop on Multimedia and Enjoyable Requirements Engineering — Beyond Mere Descriptions and with More Fun and Games
- Siemens AG, Corporate Technology, Germany
- Pace University, New York City, USA
MERE'08 shall provide an opportunity to exchange new and innovative ideas on how to use multimedia, games and other emerging concepts to make requirements engineering activities and artifacts more playful, engaging and effective. The workshop will build upon discussions from earlier, well-received Workshops on Multimedia Requirements Engineering (MeRE'06 and MeRE'07.de), with a particular focus on exploring the value that can arise from elevating the Enjoyment factor as intrinsic motivation for doing a quality job.

W3 MaRK’08: First International Workshop on Managing Requirements Knowledge
- TU München
- Harman/Becker
- FZI Research Center for Information Technologies
- empolis GmbH
MaRK'08 focuses on potentials and benefits of lightweight knowledge management approaches, such as ontology-based annotation, semantic wikis and rationale management techniques, applied to requirements engineering. Methodologies, processes and tools for capturing, externalizing, sharing and reusing of knowledge in (distributed) requirements engineering processes are discussed. Furthermore, the workshop will be an interactive exchange platform between the knowledge management community, requirements engineering community and industrial practitioners.

W4 REET’08: Requirements Engineering Education and Training
- University of Technology, Sydney
- DePaul University
- Seilevel, Inc.
Following the success of the first two International Workshops on Requirements Engineering Education and Training in Paris and Delhi, REETÕ08 will address issues related to RE education, both as part of a formal university degree and as ongoing skills training within the workplace. The workshop is intended to go much deeper than a surface discussion of curriculum issues and will examine specific ideas and techniques for teaching skills needed by effective requirements engineers.

W5 REV’08: Requirements Engineering Visualization
- Pace University
- Siemens Corporate Research
This workshop aims to provide a collaborative session in which ideas related to the visualization of requirements and ways of making them practical are shared, reviewed and debated. The controversy surrounding the practicality of non-traditional requirements engineering techniques will be discussed. The workshop will be used to identify future work, issues, problems and priorities, and to propose recommendations around these dimensions for requirements engineering visualization research.

W6 RELAW: Requirements Engineering and Law
- North Carolina State University
- North Carolina State University
- University of Vienna
- University of Toronto
Laws, regulations and treaties present significant challenges to the development, deployment and maintenance of software systems across multiple jurisdictions. Requirements are uniquely situated to capture and reflect what software must do to ensure compliance with laws. This multi-disciplinary, one-day workshop will probe important issues, including processes for identifying relevant laws and jurisdictions, aligning laws with requirements, managing requirements and changes in law and demonstrating legal compliance through evidence-based mechanisms such as documentation, testing and certification.

W7 SOCCER'08: International Workshop on Service-Oriented Computing Consequences for Engineering Requirements
- Politecnico di Milano, Italy
- City University, UK
- University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany
SOCCER aims to host significant and high-quality contributions in all topics related to requirements engineering for service-oriented software, with the goal of letting participants gain insights into the current state of the art and future challenges, create synergies through integration, and foster cross-cooperation. Besides building a community, the main result will be the continued development of a research agenda to guide and support researchers in the field.
