About this site
This new website reflects a commitment to openly available knowledge, multimedia content and free software. We hope that together these elements will offer a clearer view of what the UPC is today. The goal is to facilitate access to information and knowledge via an easy-to-navigate site and spark the interest of visitors. We want people to know how we work—to see for themselves the evidence of our high standards, hard work, dynamism, innovation, international outreach, development cooperation, and commitment to sustainability. The communication model evident on our home page will shape your experience from the moment you start exploring our new site. The model is based on three key principles:
- Access to information via four major portals that remain accessible as you navigate around the site: the UPC, Learning, Research and Community.
- Engaging audiovisual content that invites you to get to know some of the protagonists of the UPC: the people and the innovative projects they’re working on.
- Open access to knowledge generated by the University is the third principle that underpins the communication model we’ve chosen for the site. This principle is reflected in sections like the UPC.TV
(which features videos related to study programmes, teaching and science communication) and UPCommons (a portal that provides open access to the scientific output and knowledge generated at the UPC)
The home page continues to display UPC news and provide access to the press file.
