15th Velo-city conference 2009 - Call for papers
Brussels will host the Velo-city conference 2009 from May 12th to May 15th. Velo-city is generally considered to be the largest conference devoted to cycling in the world. Cycling is a good, healthy, quick and environmentally-friendly means of transport and the meetings being held during the Velo-city conference will promote cycling as both a fun and functional means of getting around.
At a European Level the objectives of Velo-city 2009 are the following:
- Ensure that greater consideration is given to cycling in all transport-related policies, particularly in urban environments.
- Recognition of the positive impact that cycling has on health and the environment.
- The signing of the Charter of Brussels, in which European cities undertake to continue to invest in cycling policy, as well as the involvement of the European Commission.
Abstracts and posters should be submitted by January 31 at the latest.
