The research lines followed at the Department of Applied Mathematics I are control systems theory, the cohomology of algebraic varieties, partial differential equations, dynamic systems (celestial mechanics, in particular) and the history of science and technology. Its research groups collaborate with a number of other research groups in Catalonia and elsewhere. These research activities are funded by several national organisations, as well as by the European Union and NATO.
