The Department of Fluid Mechanics focuses on the areas of turbomachinery systems, hydraulic and pneumatic control and power systems, and fluid media. It has two research and service laboratories, in Barcelona and in Terrassa, and it collaborates with other universities, such as the EPF of Lausanne, the University of Oviedo, the University of Almeria, the Von Karman Institute and the Politecnico di Torino. It gives training courses for companies and conducts research through the Centre for Industrial Diagnostics and Fluid Dynamics (CDIF) and the Fluid Power Laboratory (LABSON).
