The Department of Mining Engineering and Natural Resources runs the Catalan Nature University at Berga, the Georesources Forum and various symposiums, in addition to lifelong training courses in the field of mining. The Department runs mass spectrometry laboratories and, in collaboration with the Manresa Technology Centre, is officially certified to analyse food and microbiological products and air pollution. Aspects relating to georesources, such as water, arid environments, natural stone and ceramic and their environmental applications in the rehabilitation of degraded areas, are also addressed by the research carried out at the Department.
