Three new bachelor’s degrees added to the UPC’s offering for 2026–2027
The UPC is expanding its academic offering for the 2026–2027 academic year with three new bachelor’s degrees. Two of them are new interuniversity degrees coordinated by the UPC, in collaboration with the UB, which blend scientific and technological training with strategic business management: the bachelor’s degree in Agri-Food Technologies and Business Management, and the bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Business Management. The third is a new double degree combining Environmental Engineering with Marine Sciences and Technologies.

The three new degrees at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) bring together, on the one hand, scientific and technological knowledge in biosystems and telecommunications engineering with economics and business management, and, on the other, training in environmental engineering and marine sciences and technologies.
The interuniversity bachelor’s degree in Agri-Food Technologies and Business Management (UPC-UB) will produce professionals in the field of agricultural engineering and the food sector who have solid knowledge of agri-food business management. Students will receive a multidisciplinary grounding in the structure and operation of agricultural holdings and livestock farms and the agri-food industry and acquire competencies in engineering and business management for optimising production processes, improving food quality and safety and contributing to the economic and social development of the sector. The degree lasts four academic years (240 ECTS credits). It will accept 50 students and will be taught at the Barcelona School of Agri-Food and Biosystems Engineering (EEABB).
The interuniversity bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Business Management (UPC-UB) will produce professionals with advanced competencies in telecommunications technologies and solid knowledge of business administration and management. The degree responds to the high job demand for multidisciplinary backgrounds geared towards leading technological and business projects in global and dynamic environments. Students will receive training in the fields of communications, electronics, network engineering, audiovisual processing and artificial intelligence, together with knowledge of business administration, including finance, accounting, marketing, human resources and strategy and leadership. The degree lasts four academic years (240 ECTS credits). It will accept 50 students and will be taught at the Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB).
→ Coordinated by the UPC, both degrees will be delivered jointly with the University of Barcelona (UB), bringing together the expertise of teaching staff from both institutions in engineering, sciences and technology, as well as in economics and business management.
The University will also launch the double bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Marine Sciences and Technologies. Coordinated by the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (ETSECCPB), this double degree will offer interdisciplinary training to meet the demand for highly qualified professionals in environmental engineering and in marine sciences and technologies.
Students who complete the double degree will graduate with two bachelor’s degrees after five years (378 ECTS credits): the bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, taught at the ETSECCPB and the EEABB, and the bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences and Technologies, offered by the ETSECCPB, the EEABB and the Vilanova i la Geltrú School of Engineering (EPSEVG). The degree, which will accept 20 students, is pending approval by the UPC’s Governing Council.
Open day: an opportunity to discover the degrees and facilities
With these two new degrees, the UPC cements its position as the leading public university in engineering, architecture, sciences and technology, offering a total of 70 bachelor’s degrees. To present them, the University’s schools have scheduled a wide range of open days, both online and in person.
On Saturday 18 April, a new joint open day will be held, during which the UPC’s schools will open their facilities to prospective university students. Visitors will be able to see classrooms and laboratories and receive information on the degrees offered, their curricula and the professional opportunities they provide. The event will also showcase all the opportunities available to UPC students, such as international mobility, work placements and participation in associations and voluntary projects, among others.
