The UPC in the top 28% globally in the QS World University Rankings
The UPC is once again ranked among the world’s best universities in the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), placing in the top 28% of more than 1,500 ranked institutions. By indicator, its strongest performances are in Sustainability and International Research Network.

The 2027 edition of the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) evaluated over 8,800 institutions across more than 100 countries, publishing results for the top 1,504 universities, including 48 from Spain (10 more than last year). The ranking is based on nine indicators linked to research, employability, graduate outcomes, learning experience, internationalisation and sustainability.
In this edition, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) is ranked 434th–435th globally (in the top 28.8% of all ranked universities), 174th–175th in Europe, 9th–10th in Spain and 4th in Catalonia.
In terms of indicators, the UPC achieves its highest scores in Sustainability (254th) and International Research Network (279th). Regarding individual indicator scores, its top results are again in International Research Network, with 84.4 out of 100 points, and Sustainability, with 77.8 points. The UPC scores above the national average across all indicators, also above the global average with the sole exception of the percentage of international academic staff.
