ServicesLaboratori de Control de la Contaminació Ambiental
Instrumentation to carry out all types of chemical analyses and microbiological assays. Designated by Generalitat de Catalunya cooperating laboratory of Junta de Sanejament. Also equipped with pilot plants for biological and physicochemical depurations.

Analyses in general
  • Valoration of cationics by atomic absorption. Evaluation of anions. Fats and oils. Organic and total carbon. Acidity/alkalinity. Ammonia and total nitrogen. Phosphor, nitrites and nitrates, sulphurs, etc.
Industrial water
  • Colour. Conductivity. Dry residue and dissolved solids, turbidity. Hardness. Dissolved oxygen. Pathogen microorganisms. Presence of frequent contaminants TA and TAC, chlorides and sulphates.
Wastewater
  • BOD and COD. Settled volume of sludge. Inhibitor substances, MES, conductivity. Metals with organic components. Total microorganisms: streptococcus, clostridium, coliform sludge.
  • Studies of total contaminants in an effluent. Contamination caused in a textile process depuration of wastewater. Physicochemical processes neutralization, filtration, absorption (activated carbon or resins).
  • Oxidation processes
  • Biological depurations: anaerobic and aerobic processes. Selection of specific microorganisms. Activated sludge. Trickling filters. Consumption rate of O2.
  • Management of wastewater treatment plants. Planning. Assays in pilot plant. Inhibitor effect of some effluents. Re-cycling effluents after depuration.
Textile assays
  • Attack to textiles by larvae and insects: atagenus, tinea, lepisma.. Microbiological assay on fabrics or raw materials
  • Evaluation of finishes and additives: urea/phormal, fungicides, antimicrobials. Imputrescibility. Biodegradability of chemicals. Recovery of residual dyes by tangential microfiltration. Active matter of textile auxiliaries. Quality assurance. Identification of bad odours in textiles by CGL-EM.
