The 27th IFATCC International Congress 2026 will feature strong involvement from Intexter membres
Jul 02, 2026
On 30 September and 1 October 2026, Barcelona will become the global hub of textile research and industry with the celebration of the 27th IFATCC International Congress 2026. The event, to be held at the Casa de Convalescència, is organized by the Spanish Association of Textile Chemists and Colourists (AEQCT) on behalf of the International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colourists (IFATCC).
Beyond INTEXTER’s connection with AEQCT as a supporting member, the institute’s involvement in this event is particularly noteworthy through two of its professors, who are also members of the Board of Directors of the association responsible for organizing the congress and who hold key leadership roles in the event:
- Meritxell Martí, President of IFATCC and the person ultimately responsible for the organization of the congress.
- Jorge Macanás, an active member of both the Scientific and Organizing Committees of the event.
In addition to this institutional leadership, other INTEXTER researchers will also participate in the congress, presenting their latest research findings and showcasing their current lines of innovation.
Under the theme of effectively connecting industry and research, the scientific program will address some of the textile sector’s most pressing challenges, including sustainability, the circular economy, materials innovation, digitalization, and traceability.
