A 9-m-long channel with a variable slope (up to 60%, which corresponds to 30º) and a 40x60-cm rectangular section. The channel can be used for the recirculation of granular solid material with a diameter of up to 25 mm, classification of solids and continuous separation of water and granular material.
A computer program controls the solid and liquid flow. The maximum flow values are 1 kg/s and 50 l/s. The minimum flow is 25 cm3
/s.
The channel is used for creating models of detrital currents, woody debris flows and steep-slope riverbeds, correcting torrents and verifying containment structures for this type of phenomena.
