Corpora: finding words in their context

 

A monolingual corpus (pl corpora) is a collection of texts that can be used to find how words and expressions are used in context. Bilingual corpora are collections of translated texts that can be used to find translations of words and expressions.

  • British National Corpus
    The British National Corpus is a collection of samples of written and spoken language from a wide range of sources, designed to represent a cross-section of British English, both spoken and written, from the late twentieth century. It contains 100 million words.
