International Day '09

The main goal of the first International Day organized at our University on the 8th of October, was to promote student’s international mobility. The fair has brought together about twenty universities from around the world, which have submitted their academic offer. The organization team and UPC Barcelona Tech schools also answered questions about several mobility programs (Erasmus, UPC Barcelona Tech-China or UPC Barcelona Tech-Europe), as well as conditions, terms and grants that we have for stays abroad. 

International Day is one of the initiatives that Vice Chancellor for International Politics promotes, and it is organized by the International Relations Service, according to the 2008-2015 International Politics Plan. The day began with a ceremony presided by Vice Chancellor for International Politics, Mr. Lluís Torres, in which he presented UPC Barcelona Tech to the Universities who were taking part. Afterwards some of the foreign institutions with which the University has exchange agreement, took care of the students at the stands provided for that in front of Rector Gabriel Ferraté’s Library.

 

This activity provides the students all the information about foreign universities, and also give the opportunity to meet between the academic institutions in order to make new contacts with foreign institutions. Another goal of International Day is to give more relevance to the exchange students programs within University community.
