The UPC launched the International Welcome Center: a new point of reference for the international community
May 22, 2026
The new center has been created with the goal of breaking down administrative barriers and bringing the GRI team closer to its users.
Last Thursday, June 4th, the rector of the UPC inaugurated the International Welcome Center. This welcoming and support space for the international community aims to expand the assistance and guidance services provided to those who choose our university to study, develop professionally, contribute their talent to teaching activities, or enrich the research carried out at our institution.
Prior to the event, the rector, accompanied by the Vice-Rector for International Policy, visited the facilities and spoke with the International Relations Bureau (GRI) team. Following the inaugural speeches, the floor was given to the co-producing units of internationalization at the UPC, who had the opportunity to explore the new space.

- Personalized assistance at a welcome point to resolve queries and complete procedures.
- Meeting and personal work spaces.
- Networking areas to foster interaction among members of the international community.
An open and accessible space. A more connected community
Located at Plaça de Telecos, the International Relations Bureau team will be under one roof for the very first time. This move has allowed for a restructuring aimed at leveraging synergies between its various units.
Situated at the heart of Campus Nord, these open-plan facilities allow the UPC to offer a benchmark space for the international community, which quantitatively and qualitatively represents a vital part of the institution, where they will receive care and guidance. The International Welcome Center also becomes a meeting and collaboration hub for the university's units that support the international community, with the aim of sharing experiences, projects, and best practices.
