International strategy

Internationalisation has been strategic for the UPC over the last 20 years.

The first International Policy Plan, introduced in 1996, set the UPC’s position on the internationalisation of degrees, research and staff up to 2002.

The second International Relations Plan, from 2003 to 2007, designed internationalisation processes and focused on teaching, research, development cooperation, staff policy and governance culture.

The third International Policy Plan, from 2008 to 2015, stressed the importance of the University’s institutional culture.

The fourth plan, the 2016-2018 Internationalisation Plan, which includes global reach and internationalisation at home, is currently ending. The plan has had an impact on all areas in which the institutional strategy must be aligned with the strategy of UPC schools and research groups, and it marked out an international framework to increase participation in international academic networks and to open up new channels of communication with other countries.
