The Mecalux-UPC Classroom is geared towards innovation in logistics automation systems and was set up in an agreement signed on 8 April 2015 between Mecalux and the UPC. It is located in the ETSEIB building and is open to all master's degree students at the UPC. It has three separate training modules in which students acquire the technical skills that they need to work in innovation and development of structures, robotics and automation for storage facilities. Students are also trained in the most relevant aspects of the logistics industry and have access to Mecalux technology centres.
To promote the training and development of talented future professionals in the field of logistics automation systems. To provide training on integrated logistics issues in the field of robotics and metal structures for storage in an industrial engineering context. To set up a programme of scholarships aimed at UPC master's degree students that cover the total cost of courses.
To organise specialised conferences.
To promote the introduction of courses of study on storage and logistics.
To publicise its activities in industry and academia.
To strengthen long-term collaboration with the UPC on research, development and innovation; the transfer of research results; and scientific dissemination in integral logistics.
