The Association and College of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia and the UPC have agreed to create the EIC-UPC Engineering and Business Chair of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC). The Chair focuses on mentoring young engineering students and helping engineering graduates enter the job market.

The Chair will be based on three main areas:

Activites for training and detecting talent

• Awards for the best academic records and bachelor's and master's theses of industrial engineering students.
• Promotion of the UPC Talent-Business grants.
• Programme for detecting talent.
• Promotion of careers in industrial engineering.
• Participation sponsorship in business forums organised by the UPC's schools of industrial engineering.
• Seminars and conferences by company professionals.
• Promotion of EIC activities among industrial engineering students from the UPC.

Research, technology transfer and innovation support

• Working with UPC research groups to identify the real needs of industrial companies.
• Analysing aspects such as the impact of digital transformation on the profession.
• Coorperating to develop work placements.
• Advising and mentoring start-upcs.
• Promoting doctoral theses in the Industrial Doctorates Plan.
• Fostering the presentation of research projects in Catalonia, Spain and Europe.

Knowledge dissemination

• Scientific or technological outreach sessions.
• Internationalisation of the Chair's activities.
• National and international expert meetings.
• Promotion of scientific and technical publications.
