The Electromagnetic Compatibility Group (GCEM) is part of the Electronic and Biomedical Instrumentation research group of the Department of Electronic Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
GCEM is made up of a team of researchers and highly qualified technical staff who are actively involved in applied research projects and technology transfer activities to the industrial sector.
The group focuses its activity on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) innovation projects for companies. It therefore has a fully equipped laboratory for assessing, testing and measuring electronic equipment. It also has all the hardware and software resources necessary for the development of numeric simulation projects in EMC. The expertise of GCEM in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and electrical safety enables it to provide companies with testing, assessment and training services, all with the support of its own personnel and facilities.
The aims of GCEM are:
- To develop research and innovation projects in the field of EMC together with companies.
- To train and advise the engineers involved in the design and installation of electronic equipment.
- To offer its laboratory equipment to companies as an extension to their own facilities to test their products.
GCEM belongs to TECNIO, the brand name created by ACC1Ó to earmark the centres and stakeholders that specialise in applied research and technology transfer in Catalonia. This serves the twofold purpose of enabling businesses to access leading R&D+i skills and of favouring the competitiveness and international outreach of these centres.
