- MARIA is a portable, flexible, radiation-free prototype device designed to improve early breast cancer detection. It has been developed by a research team linked to the UPC’s Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE). - The UPC has issued the following statement following the activation of the Special Flood Emergency Plan of Catalonia (INUNCAT) in the counties of Alt Penedès, Baix Llobregat, Baix Penedès, Garraf and Vallès Occidental. On Wednesday 9 September 2026, there will be no teaching activities and all other activities that are not essential are suspended. Telework is established for all UPC staff and the campuses will remain closed.
