The 2017 Best Global Universities Rankings (US News) have been published

The Best Global Universities Rankings, published by US News & World Report, have been powered this year by Clarivate Analytics, the name given by the Onex Corporation and Baring Private Equity Asia companies that have acquired several Thomson Reuters products, including the Web of Science.

Besides the general ranking, the Best Global Universities Rankings have twenty-two classifications of additional areas. A maximum of twelve indicators that focus on universities’ research and reputation and are modulated according to the type of classification are used to evaluate institutions.

The UPC is ranked 425th in the overall ranking, 46th in Engineering, 37th in Computer Science, 134th in Mathematics and 226th in Materials Science, a subject in which it is ranked for the first time.
