The 2018 QS World University Rankings by Subject have been published

The UPC is ranked among the 22 best universities in the world in Architecture and Built Environment and among the 34 best universities in Civil and Structural Engineering.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject score institutions’ results in five broad subject areas and in forty-eight specific subjects. To do this, four indicators related to two areas, research (citations per document and h-index) and reputation (academic reputation survey and employer reputation survey), are analysed.

Regarding the broad subject areas, the UPC is ranked 81st in Engineering and Technology, 271st in Natural Sciences and 298th in Social Sciences and Management and in Arts and Humanities.

Regarding the specific subjects, the UPC’s best result is in Architecture and Built Environment, for which it is ranked 22nd in the world, followed by Civil and Structural Engineering, for which it is ranked 34th.

The UPC ranks in the 51-100 band in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in Art and Design, in Computer Science and in Mathematics.

It ranks in the 101-150 band in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering and in Statistics; in the 151-200 band in Materials Science and in Environmental Sciences; in the 201-250 band in Chemical Engineering, in Agriculture and Forestry and in Physics and Astronomy; and in the 251-300 band in Business and Management Studies.
