Research and Technological Innovation

The research team—composed of faculty, researchers, and highly qualified technical staff—focuses its efforts on research and technology transfer (R&D&I), as well as the training of new researchers. INTEXTER’s researchers are organized into five consolidated research groups recognized by the Government of Catalonia:

ENMA - Environmental Engineering

GRO - Research Group in Organization

POLQUITEX - Polymeric Materials and Textile Chemistry

RFLEX - Radio Frequency Identification and Flexible Electronics

TECTEX - Textile Technology Research Group

These groups carry out research through competitive projects and collaboration agreements with companies in the textile and related sectors. Their areas of activity include:

  • Technology: spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing.
  • Materials: fibers, polymers, microcapsules, composite materials.
  • Environment: advanced wastewater treatment, emerging pollutants, microfibers, microbiology and ecotoxicology, project management, waste management, industrial and residential energy management, circular economy, eLCA, sLCA, LCC.
  • Health: drug delivery, biomaterials, medical devices.
  • Electronics applied to textiles: sensors, antennas, RFID, e-textiles, flexible electronics, radiofrequency.
  • Industrial organization.
