Basic 3. Consolidation and extension of the Basic level

If you are interested in... Gaining a general and detailed understanding of oral and written information in Catalan. Having conversations on topics of general interest and writing short texts. Consolidating the Basic level and obtaining an official certificate.


Aimed at Students and teaching staff at UPC schools and administrative staff of the UPC.
Members of UPC Alumni, the UPC Group, associated research entities and affiliated schools.
Duration and delivery
Online and blended learning courses with continuous assessment and a final exam. Online tutorials in the Parla.cat course. 
50 hours total
  • 41 hours of guided virtual learning
  • 9 hours online learning with a tutor-group
  • 6 weeks

In order to follow the course you must devote 4.5 hours a week to self-directed learning tasks. This course continues with Elemental 1.
Prerequisites Basic 2 or equivalent, or you can ask for a level test at demana.slt@upc.edu.
Credits 2 ECTS credits (for mobility students, to be recognised at the origin university).
Level Equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference level A2.2
Certificate

Certificate of attendance: minimum 80% of attendance +  minimum mark of 60% for Parlacat activities + writting and speaking tasks.


Certificate of completion: minimum 80% of attendance +  minimum mark of 60% for Parlacat activities + writting and speaking tasks + final test.
Fees
  • Students at UPC schools and administrative staff of the UPC: €20 (registration fee). If you pass a module, the next module at Level A2 is free.
  • Teaching staff at UPC schools: free.
  • Members of UPC Alumni, the UPC Group, associated research entities and affiliated schools: €90.

Please quote: full name, SLT and name of the course for which you wish to register.
2. Proof of payment must be sent by e-mail to demana.slt@upc.edu at least two days before the course begins.


3. If you do not send proof of payment, the SLT reserves the right to cancel your registration.

Your registration for the course will be complete when you have taken a compulsory placement test. 

You won't need to take the placement test if you have passed the previous level or you can provide the corresponding certificate.
