The UPC continues receiving international institutional visits during March 2025

During March 2025, the UPC received institutional visits from delegations of South Korea, China, Ecuador, and Peru, which sought to establish collaboration agreements in research, education, and technology. These meetings highlight the university's ongoing internationalisation, intensified by the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Throughout March 2025, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) hosted a series of institutional visits from prominent international universities and organisations, consolidating its relationships with academic institutions worldwide.

  1. Republic of Korea Delegation (March 4, 2025)
    A delegation from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Energy of the Republic of Korea (MOTIE), led by the vice minister of the ministry, visited UPC to explore collaboration opportunities in research and technology.

  2. Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (March 6, 2025)
    The delegation from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) of China, led by the vice president of the institution, Mr. Huang Zhiqiu, visited UPC to establish links in the field of aviation and astronautics.

  3. Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (March 6, 2025)
    A delegation from Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH) from Ecuador, led by Rector Eng. Byron Vaca, visited UPC to discuss possible agreements for academic and research cooperation.

  4. K_Software Empowerment Bootcamp (March 6, 2025)
    A group of students from the Republic of Korea visited UPC to learn about the master's degrees and doctoral programmes offered for the next academic year, as part of the K_Software Empowerment Bootcamp.

    Ms. Rosario Villalta, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias (Peru), visited UPC to establish lines of collaboration in the field of engineering education and technological development.

  6. Huazhong University of Science and Technology (March 20, 2025)
    A delegation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) of China, comprising representatives from the faculties of Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Economics, and International Education, visited UPC to explore new academic collaboration opportunities.

The month of March has been especially intensified by the celebration of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, a major international event in the field of technology and telecommunications. This key moment has led many institutions to take advantage of their visit to the city to meet with UPC, exploring new opportunities for cooperation in research and education. The UPC continues to be an important player in the global innovation and research ecosystem, as demonstrated by these institutional visits.

The UPC at the MWC

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), through the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT UPC), was once again present at MWC Barcelona 2025, the global technology and connectivity congress, which took place from March 3 to 6 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. At a stand located in the Generalitat de Catalunya pavilion, the university showcased its technological capabilities, projects, and advanced solutions in areas such as smart connectivity, connected mobility, 5G, connected industry, and mobile technology security.
