Driving license

We advise you to get in your home country, before leaving, an international driving permit. Otherise, whether a driving license issued in a country other than Spain is valid in Spain or not, depends on whether a bilateral agreement is in place between Spain and that country.

If you are a resident of Spain and have a driving license from a country with which there is an agreement, you can exchange your license for a Spanish one in a simple way, with an exchange of your foreign driving license. Further information about this here:
