The Support Protocol for Members of the University Community who are Victims of an Aggression Committed in the UPC’s Spaces that May Be Regarded as a Crime and that Violates Physical and/or Sexual Integrity, approved by the Governing Council of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), defines the actions to be taken when potential criminal assault on members of the University community in the University’s facilities is reported. The aim is to protect and support victims.

Activation and monitoring
The protocol will be activated as soon as victims report an incident to the officer in the corresponding facility. The officer for students is the director of the school and the officer for teaching and administrative staff is the head of the Professional Development Service. The University will provide necessary psychological, academic, legal or employment support and will take appropriate actions.

A committee will monitor the protocol. The committee must be composed of the vice-rector for Equality, the officer to whom the incident was reported, an Equality officer from the Innovation and Community Bureau, a health and safety delegate, if applicable, and an advisor from the UPC’s Legal Services. The University will also study the legal feasibility of bringing criminal actions and will evaluate the possibility of reporting to the prosecutor’s office, the court and the police.
