Master's degree in Advanced Biomedical Technologies
Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE)
The main educational objective of the master's degree in Advanced Biomedical Technologies is to give students the advanced training in biomedical technologies that allows them to gain a professional skillset that can be integrated in companies and institutions in the healthcare field, as well as in research centres in the biomedical sector.
Thus, students are provided with the necessary training to acquire advanced knowledge and application development skills in three main areas: biomaterials and advanced biomechanics, advanced analysis of biomedical signals and images in digital health technologies, and advanced biomedical instrumentation.

Generic competencies
Generic competencies are the skills that graduates acquire regardless of the specific course or field of study. The generic competencies established by the UPC are capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship, sustainability and social commitment, knowledge of a foreign language (preferably English), teamwork and proper use of information resources.
Specific competencies
- Assume responsibilities in work teams in production management, as just another member or in a management or leadership role.
- Apply management methodologies to projects, teams and biomedical products and technologies that are appropriate to the type of project.
- Identify and analyse problems that require making autonomous, informed and reasoned decisions in order to act with social responsibility following ethical values and principles.
- Use information resources effectively, manage the acquisition, structure, analysis and visualisation of data and information in the area of specialisation and critically assess the results.
- Use scientific and technical information to respond to any demand for modification, innovation or improvement of devices, products and processes linked to biomedical engineering for new scientific or technological applications.
- Integrate the values of sustainability and understand the complexity of systems, with the aim of undertaking or promoting actions that restore and maintain the health of ecosystems and improve justice, thereby generating visions of sustainable futures.
- Develop the ability to evaluate inequalities based on sex and gender to design solutions that resolve them.
