Professor Daniel Crespo took office as rector of the UPC on 7 June in an event chaired by the minister of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, Gemma Geis. The members of the new Executive Council also took up their positions later the same day.

On 7 June, professor Daniel Crespo officially took office as rector of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC). The event was chaired by the new minister of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, Gemma Geis, and was broadcast live on the UPC’s YouTube channel and on Zonavídeo UPC.

The professor of Physics Daniel Crespo was elected rector in the voting that was conducted online from 14 to 19 May with 50.67% of the weighted votes (2,954), while the incumbent rector Francesc Torres Torres obtained 49.33% (2,876).

Later on 7 June, the members of the new Executive Council also took up their positions in another event.
