Wearing a mask in all the activities carried out at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) is now compulsory regardless of social distancing, therefore the University is distributing masks to the university community. In July, reusable masks were distributed to teaching and research staff and administrative staff members. Now UPC students can pick up their masks at the University libraries. They just need to show their UPC card or the proof of enrolment on their mobile phone.

UPC masks are reusable, made from quality fabric and validated by the UPC’s Terrassa Institute of Textile Research and Industrial Cooperation (INTEXTER). This model is made of circular knitted fabric from 100% textured polyester and has an AITEX certification of compliance with UNE 0065:2020. The masks are manufactured by the company ARPE in Arenys de Munt.

UPC students can see the opening hours and the location of the UPC libraries for picking up their masks on the website of the Libraries Service. The UPC’s COVID-19 portal contains information on the selection process and features of UPC masks and instructions on how to use and care for them.
