The pages adapt to all mobile devices

The University has completely renewed its website. The content has been restructured to facilitate usability and the site has been made more visually attractive. The new responsive design automatically adapts the content to any mobile device.

The content of the new website of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) has been functionally restructured to make it easier to find and improve the user experience. The website now has three navigation trees: one with the main content (with direct access to the information on bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, doctoral degrees, R&D and the UPC); one with all the content of the website (at the bottom of all pages); and one with the portals for each user profile, including external users (prospective students, international students, companies and the media) and internal users (students, teaching and research staff, administrative and service staff and former students). To create and organise the content we carried out usability tests with potential users to adapt browsing to the needs of each audience.

Images are more prominent on the new website. The site has been developed with free software following the principles of responsive web design, so it automatically adapts to any screen or browser that is being viewed (tablet, PC, smartphone, etc.). The pages have also been optimised for faster browsing.

The new website incorporates new designs of sections such as the Events calendar, the Press Room, the Prospective Students portal and the Companies portal.

The Communication Service, the ICT Area, UPCnet, the Personnel Service, the Institute of Education Sciences and the Language and Terminology Service have collaborated in the renewal of the website.

The UPC invites users to add their comments and suggestions about the new website by writing to info.web@upc.edu.
