Activities at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) continue to be carried out remotely in general terms and access is restricted and must be requested beforehand. However, the ministerial decree published on 16 May by the Ministry of Health allows some research activities and scientific and technical services to be gradually reinstated with restrictions on access and capacity. Only those employees providing essential services, such as research support, reception, general registry (with restricted opening hours), ICT and libraries (exceptionally for in-person loans), may be present. Activities by persons who are not UPC employees are not authorised.

Schools are preparing plans of action to give the minimum essential coverage to those activities being reinstated and the University will provide protective equipment at the clean points in buildings.

Further information is available on the COVID-19 portal. The portal also includes information regarding the plan for ending the lockdown and progressively reinstating face-to-face activities at the UPC, approved by the Governing Council on 14 May.
