Biography

Xavier Massó Pérez

Xavier Massó Pérez (Terrassa, 1967) has a degree in Economics and Business (1991) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a master's degree in Business Quality Management (1999) from the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya and the European Foundation for Quality Management, and a postgraduate degree in Public Sector Auditing (2014) from the School of Public Administration of Catalonia and the University of Barcelona.

He started his career in the private sector but went on to work as a member of the administrative and service staff of the UPC, where he continues today. He has held a number of managerial posts at the UPC, including head of administration at an institute, a department and a school; head of third-cycle degrees; assistant general manager for the North and Terrassa campuses; and director of the Accounts, Finance and Services Area (2014-). He was also the manager of the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (2008-2009).

He was appointed as a technical member of committees certifying the quality of doctoral programmes in the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and committees assessing the quality of degrees in the University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya).

He is the author of the book El modelo EFQM aplicado a la universidad. Un caso práctico [The EFQM Model Applied to Universities. A Practical Case] (Edicions UPC, 2000) and was a member of the editorial board for the White Paper on the University of Catalonia (ACUP, 2008).
