Biography
Santiago Gassó is a full professor at the Department of Project and Construction Engineering. He teaches at the Terrassa School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audio-visual Engineering (ESEIAAT) and the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (ETSECCPB). He has also taught at the ETSEIB.
As a researcher, he is part of the Construction Research and Innovation Group (GRIC) and the Agrotech-UPC research centre. He has authored or co-authored over 50 publications in indexed journals and more than 130 conference papers. He has supervised 10 doctoral theses and has tutored 15. He has participated in 44 national and European competitive research projects and a number of technology transfer contracts.
He was the assistant director of Special Programmes (2003-2004) and the assistant academic director of Second-Cycle Degrees (2004-2007) at the Terrassa School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIT, today ESEIAAT). He was the assistant director (2009-2012) and the director of the Department of Engineering Design (2012-2015, today the Department of Project and Construction Engineering) and the director of the Department of Project and Construction Engineering (2015-2021). He was the coordinator of the doctoral programme in Environmental Engineering (2007-2017). He was the vice-rector for Academic Policy (2017-2020) and the vice-rector for Teaching and Research Staff Policy (2020-2021).
