Biography

Vega Pérez is an associate professor attached to the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Engineering. She has an undergraduate degree in Physical Sciences from the UB and a doctoral degree from the UPC. She teaches at the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE). She has also taught at the EUETIB and the ETSECCPB on the subjects Mechanics, Surveying, Geophysical Prospecting, Mechanical Systems and others.

She is part of the Geophysics and Earthquake Engineering (GIES) research group and the author of more than 50 publications indexed in WoS, with over 1,000 citations. She collaborates with research centres and universities in different countries. She has supervised four doctoral theses and participated as a researcher and leader in various competitive projects. Her research focuses on non-destructive testing and geophysical prospecting, and covers fields such as agriculture, engineering structures and infrastructure, archaeology and subsoil studies.
She was the assistant director of Companies at the Barcelona East School of Engineering (2019-2025) and the assistant director of Quality (2009-2015) at the now defunct EUETIB (an affiliated school of the UPC), at which she developed and implemented the School’s IQAS. She was also the Equality delegate at the EUETIB and a member of the works council (2007-2009).
