Biography

Núria Pla Garcia

Núria Pla Garcia has a degree in Mathematics (1987) from the University of Barcelona (UB) and a doctoral degree in Mathematics (1993) from the UPC. Having spent two years at the UB’s Department of Algebra and Geometry, in 1989 she was employed by the UPC to teach at the Department of Computer Science, where she has been an associate professor since 1997. She has taught at the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB) and mainly at the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB).

As a researcher she is part of the Engineering Informatics Group (GIE), which she has led since 2015. She has supervised three doctoral theses and published various articles on geometric modelling in the field of computer graphics. She held management posts at the ETSEIB in two periods, as assistant director-head of studies from 2002 to 2005 and as director of Academic Planning from 2013 to 2017.

    • Coordination with the UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management.
